Richard has over 20 years’ experience in the waste to energy industry, establishing Gazasia in 2011 to develop a waste to bio fuel project in the Philippines in a joint venture with Aboitiz, one of the country’s major energy companies.
In 2002, he founded Gasrec Ltd in the UK, and was CEO of the company until 2011. Under his leadership, the company sourced and established a successful management team which designed, developed and deployed the world’s first LFG to LBM plant.
Prior to that, Richard advised UK based alternative energy companies on business development, specifically consulting on planning and development issues, and sourcing waste contracts.
Ahead of the formation of Gazasia in 2011, Edward assisted his father Richard in conducting market research and assessing business development opportunities within the industry. Since the declaration of the Philippine project early in 2012, he has also taken over responsibility for coordinating Gazasia’s UK-based team of technical consultants and developing relationships with specialist suppliers.
Edward’s strong business management and personnel skills were developed through earlier management roles in the hospitality industry, where he worked for several of the UK’s largest franchises.
Satish has over 30 years of experience in the petrochemical and industrial gases industries and has held both commercial and technical roles internationally as well as within the UK. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD from Imperial College. Before joining Gazasia, he was Director of Engineering and Operations at Gasrec Limited, leading the development and implementation of the company's Engineering and Operations plan. The key areas of focus were the liquefaction of methane from landfill gas, anaerobic digestors and other sources of methane for the vehicle refuelling market, and managing a diverse team including contractors and consultants on new and emerging technologies. Previous employers include ICI and BOC.
Andrew has nearly 30 years of experience in the petrochemical and industrial gases industries in process engineering, commissioning, project management and plant operational management. Before joining Gazasia he worked at the Gasrec LFG to LBM facility at Albury in the UK, leading the plant commissioning process through to operational management. Previous employment experience includes ICI, BOC and Air Products.
'Drew has over 25 years experience in the engineering industry, and until recently was a director of Kirk Environmental. At Kirk, 'Drew led the engineering team responsible for the development of the tank and ancillary packages for manufacture and construction, introducing the double-membrane gas storage product to Kirk’s portfolio.
His management ability covers all aspects of tank construction from contract award to delivery and installation on site as well as project management and financial control and reporting.
Amie previously worked at Kirk Environmental in various roles from 2007, most recently as the company’s Marketing Manager. Her honours degree in Events and Business Management from the University of Central Lancashire has enabled her to develop the structured organisational and co-ordination skills that are essential to the successful management of the different disciplines involved in the construction of AD plants.
Sonja was initially asked to advise on the development of Gazasia’s brand identity. Her role has since expanded to cover all aspects of marketing and website design.
After finishing her Masters degree in Communications Design, Sonja left her home in the Rhine valley and moved to London in 2006.
Given her keen interest in renewable energies and technologies Sonja has since used her talent as a graphic and communications designer to promote charities and start-up businesses in the waste, water and renewable energy sectors.
Libby worked in the investment industry for over 30 years, most recently as a consultant at Stratton Street Capital LLP. She has been involved with Gazasia since its inception, initially working on the business plan for the joint venture with Aboitiz. She is now responsible for the day to day running of the company, establishing and reviewing consultancy and other contracts and advising generally on corporate and legal issues. Libby has an LLB degree from London University.
