Surprising advice for prospective travellers from Virgin Group’s CEO

“Every one of us should think hard about whether or not we need to take a flight” according to Virgin Group CEO, Josh Bayliss.

Interviewed by Business Green news website, his response to rising public pressure for companies to prove their green credentials is unusual, particularly given Virgin Group’s holdings in the Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia airlines. His words highlight the urgent need for low carbon aviation fuels to be available to the industry to replace the carbon emitting jet fuel currently used, and in its absence, the need for potential customers to consider if they really have to travel.

“His stance is particularly important given the current projections of a significant increase in air travel over the next decade or so, and will hopefully encourage a greater focus on investment in the development of sustainable aviation fuels.” Richard Lilleystone, GazAsia CEO.
